Hepolite have been in business since 1907 and the demand for their products meant that at the height of their manufacturing they were producing a million piston rings a week. They are still supporting the automotive industry with pistons, rings, valves and guides for the more common later model 1960s & 70s motorcycles. You can see what they have on offer here – www.hepolitepistons.com
This catalogue is in part, covering just the motorcycles and scooters for pre 1963, and even though the majority of machines listed are from the 1940s onwards there are listings going back to the mid 1930s for more of the common models that were in production for a longer period, eg AJS 1935/46 OHV, and BSA 348cc OHV singles where one piston fitted a multitude of different models. And it even has a listing for my favourite motorcycle, the late 1950s 70cc 2 stroke BSA Dandy. Yay, go Dandy!!
It is a valuable resource with piston to bore clearance information for alloy and cast iron pistons, as well as ring gap and ring side clearance groove information. Also helpful if you are looking for a later piston to fit an earlier engine. Or just the job if you have a 1958 198cc Heinkel and you are looking for a piston.
