This is just an advance notice from the folks in the Hawkes Bay Classic Motorcycle Club who organise the annual Taupo to Napier
Mail Run. This will be their 33rd event and has been confirmed for Saturday 19th March 2022.
For those who may have heard of the run but not done it is an easy ride on well paved roads with beautiful views, over a distance of approx 145 kms. It is not a timed competition, just a case more of follow the leader (or the rider in front).
The Mail Run is for girder fork motorcycles with a rigid frame and sprung saddle. There will be a reward for any pre 1920 motorcycles entered and ridden or part thereof. Feeling sociable? Well you could trot on down to the Cobb and Co in Taupo on Friday evening for a chit chat and a meal with other keen riders. Departure is 10am Saturday morning, prize giving and dinner in Napier Saturday night.
The entry forms are not out yet, and don’t usually appear until mid January, but if you would like to register your interest you can contact Maggie and Jim Lord by clicking here for their contact details. Or you could print the form out and put it on your fridge door next to your grandchildrens finger painting efforts, just to remind you to send an entry form in by next February.
Of course this will be depending on our covid status, but being of a positive mind it will all be sorted by then and we can all have an enjoyable time.
You don’t want to be late for the 2022 Mail Run.
