By 1914 Royal Enfield achievements were mounting with successes in endurance events, touring and racing. And we all know that any successes transform into more sales. As they say ‘Racing improves the breed’. This sales brochure catalogues such wins and endorsements from happy owners, as well as having good descriptions of the technicalities of the lubrication system and Royal Enfields Patented 2 speed countershaft drive. A great publication for owners and restorers.
There were 4 models, the 2 3/4hp Model 160, the 3hp Model 140, the 3hp Model 150 TT Roadster (the 3hp models were powered by the 424cc I.O.E engine), and the 6hp Model 180 with J.A.Ps mighty V twin engine used mainly for sidecar work but can also be ridden as a solo.
This may be a slightly blemished sales catalogue from one of the many large motorcycle manufacturers of the 1910s but it is 108 years old and still well worth a look.
