As with anything vintage the maintenance of the motorcycle is very basic, but still a necessity to keep the machine in perfect running order. This manual, published in 1926 covers such basic requirements to keep the machine mobile. Anything more and it was recommended by the factory to go to a reputable dealer or even return the motorcycle to the factory by rail for their expert skills.
The first 11 pages cover the models for 1926, with a 3 page supplement in the back for the newer 1927 models.
As with a lot of vintage manuals there are certain sections on road craft and general riding which we have omitted, so in some cases the numbers on the pages do not match up with the actual pages. But all the important stuff is there. Besides the normal ignition and valve timing information there is also information about Royal Enfields foot operated 2 speed gear, adjustment of the 2 speed countershaft bands and Sturmey Archer gearboxes.
