NZ Tourist Trophy Race Programmes 1938 and 1939.

We have published two stories covering the New Zealand Tourist Trophy racing that ran from 1931 to 1950 on Waiheke Island. We have managed to put up a couple of race programs from the late 1940s (with a few more to come) however prewar or 1930s programs are proving quite hard to come by. Of late though we have managed to secure original race programs for both 1938 and 1939. A great bonus for those who are searching the history on these events, even more so if they are looking for history on past family members that competed. Both programs also have a brief description of the riders and their machines.
In addition to competitors the supporting business advertisements provide great reading, especially the likes of Robinsons Motorcycles (later to be Sir Dove Meyer Robinson), Person’s Motorcycles, Jack Dales, Skeates and White Ltd, Dallow and Forsyth, Goldberg Motors, W White and Cyril Goldfinch, Broadway Motors and Merson Bros Ltd.

Just click on the covers below to see what was happening.
Both are PDFs.

We would like to add any missing programs to this great piece of New Zealand racing history so if any of our readers can supply good digital scans we would be very grateful, and no doubt so will the rest of our readers. We can be reached through our Contacts Page.
