It rains, it blows, it is cold (sometimes bloody freezing) and it can be frost white, but hey it is the mid winter swap meet hosted by the Rotorua Branch of the Vintage Car Club. Since I started attending it in the early 1980s it has always been at the Rotorua Race Track off Fenton St, but from this year it has a new home, the Paradise Valley Raceway, in Paradise Valley Road. It will be well signposted and access off Clayton Road (click here for map) should send you in the right direction. As with most swap meets the selection is getting less but I have always found it to be worthwhile going, if only for a carton of chips and to catch up with a few friends. And remember – if you dont go you will never know what was there.
