The lads and lasses of the Nelson Classic and Vintage Motorcycle Club are hosting the 16th National Classic Motorcycle Rally for 2016. This year it is being held at Kaiteriteri on the weekend of 18th to 20th of November. There will be 2 routes, a shorter one of 70km for the more older or slower machines, like vintage or girder bikes and 2 strokes like Bantams, which will be over the sealed back roads of Motueka, and a longer run of 120kms will take you over the scenic roads of Takaka Hill. There will be a backup vehicle as well.
Saturday morning will include a show with the usual era’s Pre 30 , 30-40 , 40-50 etc and onto bikes that are club eligible which is a rolling 25 years, with trophies and prizes.
They can easily cater for 150 people with good accommodation at Bethany Park #1 and if there are more entries they have the option of camp #2.

1929 BSA Sloper. Just the sort of bike that organisers Steve and Maxine would like to see at their rally.
Prices include rally fee, cabin accommodation and meals. Or you could take a tent. Breakfast is continental.

Sounds great for what looks to be a real social weekend. So NOW is the time to print everything off and get it in the post. And as we all well know Nelson has the most sunny days in New Zealand (they do a good job telling us too), so the possibility of fine weather is better than most.
