Ashley , President of the New Zealand BSA Motorcycle Owners’ Club reached out to us to let you know about the 2017 National BSA Rally and after some some hard negotiation down to the princely sum of $0.00, we here at Barnstormers are more than happy to post this event for the New Zealand BSA Motorcycle Owners’ Club.
Set in rural Taranaki, Vertical Horizon is an event centre a few minutes from Inglewood. The centre is used for school camps, holiday programmes, corporate team building and leadership training. Several motorcycle clubs have used the venue in the past for their annual rallies. The main accommodation lodges are bunk rooms each of which has its own internal toilet and shower. There are enough bunk rooms for most rally-goers to have a bottom bunk. There is also accommodation in chalets and lodges for couples and these also have internal shower and toilets. Bring your own towel and linen (or sleeping bag) or hire linen from Vertical Horizon. There are powered sites for up to six caravans or motorhomes.
The Taranaki members of the rally committee have planned a spectacular ride through roads covering rural, mountain, coastal and urban scenery. Riders will be given rally route instructions and a map of the route, there will be marshals leading the way and there will be marshals on some corners. At the lunch stop, which is relatively remote, lunches will be delivered to us. The rally will include the Friday night barbecue, judging of motorcycles, the Club AGM and delegates’ meeting, visits to interesting places and the rally dinner at Vertical Horizon.
You don’t have to come on a BSA – there will be a trophy for non-BSAs
