Levis motorcycles could never be called quaint or nifty, more of a gritty or robust nature. It is just a shame that for 1938 they did not include their racy looking little 250cc Model CB with their own design OHC engine from 1935, nevertheless there are 7 models listed which seem to encompass the more sporting image of the time. A handsome line up of machines with most having smart upswept exhaust pipes and heavily chrome plated petrol tanks. From the lightweight 247cc Two Stroke Model powered by Levis’ own 2 stroke engine, the Model B Special 250cc Twin Port, the 346cc Single Port Model S.P.3 and Twin Port Model A Special, the 498cc Single Port Model S.P. 5 and Twin Port Model D Special, through to the big daddy of singles, the 592cc Twin Port ‘600’ Model, riders were spoilt for choice.
However Levis was yet another manufacturer that never survived the war, with 1940 being the last year of their production.
