Royal Enfields 1950 Model G 350, Model J Single Port and Model J2 Twin Port 500s heritage goes back to their introduction in 1936. By 1950 they were a proven reliable motorcycle that seems to be coming back around for new riders who want to own and ride something different. So with this in mind we have reproduced a copy of Royal Enfields Instruction Book that was supplied to owners with the purchase of their brand new Royal Enfield Model G and J/J2 motorcycles. Covering the basic layout of controls, maintenance including ignition, timing, tappets, lubrication, as well as overhauling the engine it enables owners to keep their machines in fine fettle. It is a handy manual for those newer modern day owners who would like to understand a bit more about the basic up keep of their older rigid motorcycle.
And finally at the back of the manual there is a list of “Don’ts” with my favourite being ‘Don’t blame the makers for the inevitable consequences.’ I wonder if that ever happened?
