A small catalogue for Lucas electrical components fitted to most common 1935-37 British motorcycles. This was a big change for the industry as it was when Lucas introduced the 2 brush generator with the MCR Voltage Regulator in 1937 for better charging control. You may notice that Velocette is not included on the list as they still chose to use Miller electrical equipment. Also it doesn’t include the small capacity motorcycles that used Villiers flywheel generators. Though some did use the Villiers flywheel magneto for ignition but also fitted Lucas generators for their lighting, for example Coventry Eagle Silent Superb.
Perhaps the most valuable information would be the listing for the 2 different resistances fitted to some machines with the 3 brush generators for 1/2 charging, this is to stop the overcharging of the battery during daylight running. The 2 values are 5 and 7.5 ohms. Could be valuable if you are searching Ebay.
Hopefully of value but good luck finding a Lucas agent nowadays and asking for that numbered part.
